The University of Texas at Dallas provides multiple wireless networks for student and guest access.
Any network client should be able to connect to this network. Once connected you will need to use a browser to accept the end user agreement from the university.
If on-campus, it is not recommended to use UTDALLAS. CometNet2 is faster and easier to connect to. If in phases I-IV, there is no alternative to the WATERVIEW network.
CometNet2 is the preferred campus network.
GUI network manager that is included in many installations by default. All of the major desktop environments (KDE, Gnome, XFCE) have an interface for it.

wicd is a light-weight GUI network manager. It is useful if you are not running a full desktop environment, or as an alternative to network-manager.
wpa_supplicant is the back-end that the GUI network managers use. It can be used directly via a command-line interface.
